What are the authorization levels in CRS and who should be authorized?

The following authorization access is available: add/change/drop courses (data entry), surrogate approval authorization or approval authorization, surrogate signoff authorization or signoff authorization, or any combination of the above. More than one person per unit may be authorized.

It is suggested that assistant/associate deans for colleges/schools have authorization for all activities at the college level, department heads/chairpersons or their designees have authorization for all activities at the department level, and a person at each level be designated as a surrogate for those authorized to signoff or approve. Also, staff at each level may be authorized to enter data (and not approve/signoff), depending upon the organization of the unit.
