Three-Year Drop of Unoffered Courses

In February 1973, the UICC Senate approved a policy under which courses that had not been offered over a three-year period were subject to being dropped. On February 16, 1994, the Senate Committee on Educational Policy reaffirmed this policy.

Periodically, the Office of Programs and Academic Assessment sends out a list of approved courses that have not been offered during a specific three-year period. Units are asked to examine the list and notify OPAA of errors or requests to retain courses by a certain date. Courses for which a request for retention is not received are dropped automatically and removed from future catalogs.

Questions about the three year drop policy may be directed to the Office of Programs and Academic Assessment at 3-3463.
