Academic Programs (AP) supports the university's 16 colleges in the creation and revision of their undergraduate, graduate, and professional curricula. This includes:
- Advising the campus on educational policies, guidelines, and regulations.
- Coordinating the review and approval processes of campus and external governance to:
- Establish, revise, or eliminate academic programs (i.e., degrees, certificates, minors, concentrations).
- Establish, reorganize, or eliminate academic units (e.g., departments, colleges, research and public service centers and institutes).
- Processing requests for new and revised courses.
- Administration of the university’s Course Request System (CRS).
- Overseeing the creation and maintenance of UIC academic codes in the U of I System Codebook.
- Supporting the activities of the Senate Committee on Educational Policy and General Education Council.
